Hello, my name is Tsubasa, founder of 2SmiLe, a relaxation salon in Omoromachi, Naha, Okinawa.
Today, I help people relax through deep tissue massage and oil treatments. But years ago, my life looked completely different.
At the age of 30, I was working for a bus company near Tokyo Station.
Life in Tokyo was busy and overwhelming.People rushing everywhere.Constant pressure. No time to slow down.
I loved English and dreamed of seeing the world, but deep inside, I felt stuck.
So one day, I decided to leave Japan and move to Sri Lanka.
Life in Sri Lanka Was Much Harder Than I Expected
Sri Lanka was beautiful, but life there was not easy.
The weather was constantly hot and humid.I washed my clothes by hand.I was eating curry almost every single day. There was no air conditioning, and some nights I could barely sleep.
Honestly, there were moments when I thought:
“Why did I even come here?”
I slowly became exhausted mentally and emotionally.Looking back now, I think I was close to depression.
Ayurveda Changed My Life
What saved me during that difficult time was Sri Lankan Ayurveda.
The scent of herbal oils. The calm atmosphere. The feeling of finally being able to breathe deeply again.
Little by little, the tension inside me started to melt away.
And during one treatment, I suddenly realized:
“I’ve been pushing myself too hard.”
I still remember the tears falling naturally from my eyes.
Ayurveda didn’t just heal my body.It helped heal my mind too.
That experience became the foundation of what I do today.
A Miracle That Came Full Circle
There is actually a special story behind this very website.
When I lived in Sri Lanka, I stayed with a local host family.Back then, their son was only a junior high school student.
Twelve years later, he became a professional IT engineer.
And now, he is the person who created the official website for 2SmiLe.
Life works in mysterious ways.
The country that once healed me, and the people I met there, are still supporting me today.
What I Want to Share at 2SmiLe
At my relaxation salon in Omoromachi, Naha, I want to offer people the same feeling that once saved me:
Space to breathe.
Space to relax.
Space to simply be yourself.
Many people in Japan work incredibly hard and forget how to rest properly.
That is why I value not only physical care, but also mental wellness and emotional balance.
Through deep pressure massage and oil treatments, I hope to help people feel lighter, calmer, and able to smile again.
At the end of this month, I will visit Sri Lanka for the fourth time.
I look forward to learning even more and bringing new energy back to Okinawa.
To Those Who Always Put Others First
If you are always busy…
If you keep pushing yourself too hard…
Please remember this:
You deserve rest too.
Sometimes, the most important thing is simply giving yourself permission to slow down.
At 2SmiLe in Naha, Okinawa, I hope you can find a moment of peace for both your body and mind.
